Community Care Ministry
It is been said that the Salvation Army is Christianity with its sleeves rolled up and represents God’s love in action. A dedicated team of helpers ably demonstrate this as we seek to respond to local need through a programme of practical care and support.
Signpost service
Open Monday to Friday 1000-1500 the church centre is open to visitors requiring information or assistance and for those who wish to spend time in personal prayer.
Furniture Project
For a number of years we have offered a furniture recycling project: passing on donations of furniture in good condition to those in need. At the present time, the Furniture Project is undergoing a major restructuring in order to provide an improved service.

Food Parcels
We maintain a small stock of tinned and packaged food for emergency provision. In certain circumstances, we may be able to give food vouchers for the purchase of fresh foods.
Emergency Accommodation
We do not have any of our own accommodation in Felixstowe. We do have a men’s hostel in Ipswich. In exceptional circumstances and normally by referral from another agency, such as Social Services, Citizen’s Advice Bureau or a housing association, we may be able to fund emergency accommodation on bed and breakfast terms for a maximum of two nights.
Home and Hospital Visiting
People living alone can often experience loneliness. We are always pleased to arrange for someone from our church to visit. We have good relationships with the residential and nursing homes in Felixstowe and arrange monthly church services at several. On request, we can also visit people in hospital.
Christmas Day at the Salvation Army
Christmas Day can be a particularly lonely time and we extend a warm welcome to those who would otherwise be alone to join us for the day. Traditional Christmas lunch is followed by entertainment and tea, with a “goodie” bag to take home at the end of the day!
With Your Help ...
We are grateful to the general public for their financial support for our work. We welcome donations. With your help, we can do even more to respond to those who turn to us for help.
‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.’ Matthew 25 v40 (NIV)
