The purpose of the Felixstowe Salvation Army Band is to ‘Serve the Present Age’ by using brass instruments to spread the gospel message. It provides music to accompany and enhance our worship. The band’s music ranges from simple hymn tunes to the more taxing and demanding works produced by today’s Salvation Army composers.

Every Sunday the band plays music to witness to the many hundreds of people who pass by the open-air service on the Triangle in the centre of the town between 12.05pm – 12.30pm.
The band takes part in many local events such as the Remembrance Day Service, the switching on of the Christmas lights and United Church Services.

Over the years the Felixstowe Band has travelled widely both in this country and overseas. There has been a Salvation Army band in Felixstowe since 1888.The current band has 25 members.

Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings and are held in the hall in Cobbold Road.
